Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DSW Plastic Side Chair in forest green is an instantly recognisable piece, showcasing the signature dark maple 'Eiffel' base, minimalist seat and a refreshed colour palette for 2019, paying homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging aspirations of the future. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking solid dark maple wood and wire base with cross struts and features rubber shock mounts to support longer periods of sitting down. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DSW Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its sleek, modern look and versatility. The plastic seat in forest green adds a subtle pop of colour that works well in both contemporary and mid-century styled interiors. It pairs seamlessly with wooden or darker-toned interiors, making it an adaptable choice for dining rooms that want a touch of understated style. Practical styling tips include using it as part of a mixed-material arrangement-combine with a wooden table or other natural textures to balance the plastic and dark maple legs. Adding tactile accessories like textured cushions or throws can soften the overall look, while coordinating with other green or earthy accents will help create a cohesive space.
