Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DSR Plastic Side Chair in warm grey is an instantly recognisable piece, showcasing the signature black 'Eiffel' base and a refreshed colour palette that pays homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging aspirations of the future. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking chromed wire base with cross struts and features rubber shock mounts to support longer periods of sitting down. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DSR Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love this DSR plastic side chair for its clean, minimal design that works well in both contemporary and mid-century inspired interiors. Its neutral Pebble and Dark colours enable it to sit seamlessly in a variety of colour schemes, from monochrome schemes to more colourful setups. I’d style it as part of a pared-back dining area or in a casual workspace, pairing it with sleek tables or even contrasting textures like wood or metal. Practical tips include layering with textured or patterned cushions for added comfort and visual interest, or balancing its modern vibe with some vintage or industrial touches around the space for a curated look. Its lightweight, durable plastic makes it an ideal option for everyday use without sacrificing style.
