Description

Get the perfect light for industrial or heritage themed homes with the Dexter Industrial Style Box Flush Ceiling Light. Flush light fittings are ideal for low ceilings due to their minimal drop height and look perfect in any hallway, or on any landing. This ceiling light also features a black cage design that encases 4 hanging pendants, each with antique brass bulb holders, perfect for styling with our separately sold vintage filament light bulbs.

Our Stylist Says

I love the industrial edge of this one; it’s a sleek, minimal fit for spaces like loft apartments or modern kitchens. The black finish adds a touch of boldness, making it a great statement piece above dining tables or in open-plan living areas. For practical styling tips, consider pairing it with other industrial accents - think exposed brick, metal furniture, or wood beams - to create a cohesive look. Its simplicity also allows it to work well in modern, minimalist interiors, while the black frame keeps it versatile enough for transitional spaces. To keep the look fresh, try layering with softer textures like rugs or cushions to soften the utilitarian vibe, or add vintage-style filament bulbs for a warm glow.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
