Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DAW Plastic Armchair in a mustard yellow hue showcases the signature 'Eiffel' base between golden maple legs and a refreshed colour palette for 2019, paying homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging future aspirations. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking base with black steel cross struts and elegant golden maple legs. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DAW has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort. An elegant and distinctive design, the DAW Plastic Armchair is instantly recognisable as an authentic Eames piece and is crafted to exacting standards by prestigious collective Vitra.

Our Stylist Says

I love this lime-green plastic chair for its bold colour punch and contemporary vibe. It works particularly well in modern or eclectic interiors, adding a playful yet sleek touch. The mustard and golden maple tones bring warmth, allowing it to complement both colourful and neutral palettes. For styling tips, I’d pair it with minimalist dining tables in wood or matte finishes, and consider adding textured or patterned cushions to soften the look. It’s a practical choice for casual dining areas or breakfast nooks, thanks to its easy-to-clean surface and supportive form-plus, the pop of colour instantly energises the space.
