I’m a fan of the Covington bench for its solid polished timber and clean lines - it works equally well in farmhouse-style kitchens, industrial lofts or pared-back Scandi spaces. Its generous length makes it ideal alongside a large dining table or under a hallway console.
For styling, soften the look with a couple of textured linen cushions or a folded wool throw at one end. In an entrance, slide low-profile baskets underneath for extra storage, and top the seat with a slim vase of foliage or a neat stack of books to add a little personality.

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour.
