The Colorado is a blend of soft white painted finish and oak woodgrain effect melamine tops, which are easy to clean and hardwearing. This range is a fresh approach to affordable furniture. The low wide bookcase features two adjustable shelves so you can conveniently place your books in an organised manner, or your magazines, CDs or DVDs. I’m a fan of the low wide bookcase in white because its clean lines and simple oak-tone top slot effortlessly into both contemporary Scandi schemes and more traditional country styles. The open, shallow shelves mean your books, ceramics or framed prints don’t get lost: instead you can organise them by height or colour, and leave empty gaps for a lighter look. To style, mix a pair of woven baskets on the bottom shelf with a row of paperbacks above, then add a cluster of vases or a small plant in the centre of the middle shelf. Its compact height also makes it ideal as a media unit or hall console.
