Description

Transform your home with our Brown Leather Armchair. A fusion of comfort and artistry. Draped in sumptuous Cigar Leather, it radiates enduring charm and sophistication. Its sturdy frame, melding birch wood with plywood, epitomizes durability while highlighting the allure of natural wood. Enhanced by advanced elastic webbing and serpentine springs, the seat and back provide sustained comfort and ergonomic excellence. Complemented by plush high-density foam cushions, this chair offers a lavish seating retreat, exemplifying relaxation with elegance

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of the Chance chair in brown leather for its clean, contemporary lines and smooth swivel base - it’s a versatile piece that sits just as comfortably in a pared-back Scandinavian scheme as it does against exposed brick or dark timber panelling. The warm chestnut hide pairs well with natural fibres, so layer a neutral wool throw or a chunky knit cushion to soften the look without losing its sleek profile. To style it, create a small reading nook by placing the chair on a low-pile jute rug with a slim metal side table beside it. Add a slim-framed floor lamp for directional light and a simple indoor plant to introduce a touch of green. The swivel function means you can angle it towards a window or conversation area, making it both practical and effortlessly chic.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
