Description
The Chaise Tout Bois is expertly informed by Jean Prouvé's original, award-winning Standard Chair, available in an entirely wooden finish that flaunts optimal weight distribution and masterful balance. The design dates back to the 1940s, articulating Prouvé's insight that seating designs take the most strain on the back legs. Solving this weight distribution issue, the French engineer created a lightweight front to support stronger, more voluminous back legs, transferring the sitter's weight into the floor. The chair embodies comfortable, clean-lined, withstanding design, finished with an ergonomic seat and backrest. An engineer, architect and designer, Jean Prouvé called himself 'Le Constructeur' or 'The Factory Man' and was driven by systematic design and industrial processes.
