Expertly manufactured by master craftspeople at Carl Hansen & Son, this soaped oak edition of the CH37 Armchair is a clean-lined masterpiece of Danish furniture design history with a natural hand-woven paper cord seat. Originally designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1962, the CH37 Armchair has been treated with wood soap to enhance and lighten the grain while showcasing a simple, functional structure that is as beautiful to behold as it is comfortable to sit in. Crafted with a gently rounded back panel, the lightweight CH37 Armchair allows for freedom of movement and superior comfort, making it an ideal design for both relaxation and dining spaces. Simple and thoughtfully made, the design references its influence of Shaker furniture principles, integrated with Wegner's own inimitable touches: gently tapering legs for a light appearance, enhanced back support and the Carl Hansen & Son signature hand-woven paper cord seat that appears both sturdy and delicate all at once.
