Description

Pendant lighting is one of the most elegant and eye-catching features that you can utilise in the modern home, with the gorgeous hanging structures having a prominent place in any interior’s designs whilst also giving out fantastic illumination across the room. Coming with a distinctively contemporary style thanks to a sleek chrome finish and sophisticated smoke glass shade, the Carmella pendant light is a fantastic addition to a modern décor. The light has a dual layer shade that diffuses the light for a softer, more ambient shine in your home, helping to create a soothed, relaxed atmosphere that allows you to unwind with ease at the end of the day.

Our Stylist Says

I love this pendant’s sleek, modern shape with its smoky glass finish - perfect for adding a touch of contemporary sophistication. It works well in minimalist or industrial interiors, effortlessly blending form and function. For styling, consider hanging it over a kitchen island or dining table to create focal points, or group a few at varying heights for more visual interest. Its neutral smoky tone makes it versatile, pairing nicely with both cool and warm colour schemes. Keep surrounding decor simple to let the silhouette stand out, and opt for warm LED bulbs to soften the reflective surface and add a cosy glow.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
