The Capsule lamp has been designed to maximize use of its main material, alabaster, and brings a soft light to any public or residential space. The streamlined, minimalist, cylindrical shape is enhanced by the soft curves which provide uniform lighting, revealing the depth and unique textural detail of the alabaster. Capsule celebrates the natural beauty of the material through its simplified form. The cylindrical body is made from a single piece of alabaster: The stone is delicately and subtly worked to create an extremely thin, spherical shape. When the light is switched on, the lampshade becomes slightly translucent and lights up, highlighting the delicate veins. This material effect creates a wonderful contrast of light and shade on the lampshade. Capsule harnesses the vibratory richness of alabaster, a stone with multiple light and pattern variations. The alabaster emits a delicate and vivid light which draws the eye. The alabaster body stands on an aged brass base. The brightness can be adjusted using a discreet touch dimmer. Carpyen, a family company which has been based in Barcelona for over 70 years, develops and produces its lighting collections in its own workshops. The passion and technical know-how of the craftsmen complement each other perfectly, resulting in a high-quality, locally produced product. The company favours local supply chains and sources the alabaster used to make the light from the North of Spain. PLEASE NOTE. Because alabaster is a natural material, there may be slight variations between products, making each lamp unique.
