I’m a big fan of this burgundy velvet chesterfield bed - the deep hue and diamond-style buttoning add instant glamour without feeling over the top. It works particularly well in modern-glam or art-deco inspired schemes but can equally ground a more neutral Scandi or contemporary space by providing a rich focal point. For styling, keep bedding simple and tonal - think soft greys or off-white linens - then layer in metallics with bedside lamps or a mirrored dressing table. A couple of tactile cushions in contrasting textures (sheepskin, velvet or even a subtle animal print) will add depth, and a low-pile rug in a pale shade will help the bed stand out. Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores".
