Description

Both practical and stylish, the Barley Adjustable Spotlight in Satin Brass can be used as a ceiling light or wall mounted. This single spotlight can be adjusted to light up specific areas where it is most needed. It is also LED compatible, making it an excellent energy saver.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Barley spotlight for its sleek, modern aesthetic with a touch of vintage charm thanks to its satin brass finish. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, adding a sophisticated focal point without overwhelming the space. Practical styling tips include placing it in zones where task lighting is needed, such as above a reading nook or kitchen workspace, or using it to highlight artwork or architectural features. Its adjustable head allows for versatile lighting angles, making it both functional and stylish. Pair it with other brass or matte black fixtures for a cohesive look or use it as a statement piece in simple, neutral interiors to bring a touch of warmth and elegance.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
