Embroidered by hand, this woollen cushion is the result of remarkable artisanal work: it requires around 32 hours’ work to make! American designer and ceramicist Jonathan Adler loves to revive forgotten traditional crafts and techniques. With audacity and fantasy, he revisits the technique of Bargello embroidery. Having appeared around the 16th century in Florence, this embroidery stitch is characterised by regularly overlapping broken lines, giving rise to a pattern that develops in waves. Jonathan Adler creates a pattern inspired by psychedelic graphics from the 70s. Vibrant in bold blues and punchy pinks, these cushions enhance any room. You’ll love the delightful discrepancy between tradition, ancestral know-how and the colourful, pop, offbeat imagery of Jonathan Adler. The back of the cushion is covered with luxurious black velvet. Jonathan Adler has become a eulogist for an uninhibited, playful and punchy style of decoration, defending irreverent luxury and mixing American modernism with Arts & Crafts references.
