Description

The Avaley Rug has a pretty pattern of curling fronds and abstract florals in a Washed Rose hue, crafted using a traditional hand-knotting technique that originates from Persia. The wool is first sorted by hand and spun into yarn,then washed and dyed before skilled artisans embark on the knotting process. A designer draws out the design on paper so the weaver can determine the size and pattern of the rug and adjust their handloom accordingly. A maximum of three weavers work together on one handloom, carefully binding the vertical warps around the horizontal yarns from the bottom upwards until it is complete.

Its understated colour palette makes it versatile enough to layer with patterned or textured furnishings without overpowering them. For styling, consider placing it under a simple coffee table or in an airy bedroom to create a cosy coastal or boho look. To keep it looking its best, avoid placing it in high-traffic areas prone to stains, and look at using a rug pad to prevent slipping and protect the fibres.
