Description

Bring a stylish and sophisticated look to your home with Alfie Bobble Glass Flush Ceiling Light. This flush fitting is ideal for low ceilings in hallways or landings due to the minimal drop height and comes in a polished nickel finish for a modern appearance in your home. It also features a gorgeous mottled glass shade for a unique texture, and looks ideal when paired with one of our separately sold vintage filament light bulbs.

Our Stylist Says

I love this glass ceiling light for its simplicity and versatility. The clear, bubble-textured glass adds a tactile element that complements both contemporary and vintage-inspired interiors. It works particularly well in open-plan kitchens, living areas, or even bathrooms where a touch of understated elegance is desired. When styling, consider pairing it with minimalist or brass fixtures to enhance its modern charm, and use warm bulbs to create a cosy, inviting glow. Because of its subtle design, it’s a great choice for layering with other lighting sources, ensuring a well-balanced light scheme throughout your space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
