Our Stylist Says

I love how this outdoor heater is both practical and sleek, making it a strong addition to contemporary patio spaces. Its black finish is versatile enough to complement a range of outdoor styles - from minimalist to industrial and even modern rustic. I recommend styling it in environments that blend functionality with design - think outdoor dining areas with mixed materials or elegant garden lounges. Practical tips include positioning it near cosy seating zones without overwhelming the space; it works well when combined with soft textiles like throws and cushions in neutral or bold colours to create an inviting atmosphere. Its twin lamp design also gives it a streamlined, unobtrusive look - perfect for adding warmth without compromising the aesthetic.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
