Metal gives a clean, modern or industrial look, and it feels light even in a small room. Compare 24,775 metal lamps from 59 retailers on Flitch, with prices for most of them running from around £25 to £360 – so there’s choice across a wide range of budgets.
Metal lamps on Flitch
More than half of the lamps on Flitch are metal, more than any other material. You’ll find the widest choice at The Range, Nordic Nest and Made in Design. The range keeps growing: retailers have added 359 new metal lamps to Flitch in the last 30 days. The most common colours for metal lamps are grey and black. By type, more than half are table lamps, and about a third are floor lamps. There are also 3,518 with built-in LED lights. Metal is strong enough to be slim, which can suit a small space, and powder-coated finishes tend to resist scratches and rust. It’s a good idea to measure your space before you choose: of the metal lamps with measurements listed, most are between 40 and 145cm tall.
How much do metal lamps cost?
Half of all metal lamps on Flitch cost less than £85. That’s about the same as lamps in general. You’ll pay less for those with built-in LED lights: they typically cost £55, about 35% less than the range as a whole. Type matters too, with floor lamps at around £100 against £70 for table lamps. Taller ones cost more: those over 150cm tall come in at around £130, about twice the price of shorter ones at £60. It also pays to shop around: of the retailers with plenty to choose from, Habitat is usually the cheapest, at around £40, and Andrew Martin the most expensive, at around £700.

Wood and ceramic lamps are also popular with shoppers, if you’re not set on metal. Retailers have been stocking more blue lamps this year, so there’s a wider choice available.
Is now a good time to buy metal lamps?
Right now 1,137 metal lamps are reduced, typically by 17% – and some by up to 76%. About one in ten metal lamps are cheaper than they’ve usually been over the last three months.
