Our Stylist Says

This outdoor wall light is a sleek choice that combines modern design with practicality. I love how its black finish ensures it works seamlessly with a variety of exterior styles, from contemporary to minimalistic settings. The Zeb Up and Down Wall Light adds visual interest by casting light both upwards and downwards, making it perfect for highlighting architectural features or creating ambient lighting along pathways. For styling, I recommend pairing it with other black or matte-finish fixtures for a cohesive look, or using it to add contrast against lighter façades. It’s ideal for spaces that benefit from functional, yet stylish outdoor lighting - think entrances, patios, or garden walls. Keep the surrounding areas uncluttered to let its clean lines make a statement, and consider using warm white bulbs to enhance the inviting outdoor atmosphere.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
