Soft as a cloud and soothing as a hammock… Soft and embracing lines are guaranteed with this sofa, which has been designed with not only aesthetics and comfort in mind, but also the rationalisation of the production and recycling processes, creating a product that is demanding in terms of sustainability and durability. The Za:Za sofa is composed of a fine steel frame, which is lightweight yet robust. Solid, rigid straps in polyester fabric are attached to this frame and support the cushions, creating a suspended seat in which you feel embraced, as if on a cloud. Za:Za is the result of a summarising and de-constructing process: the elements that typically compose sofas have been deconstructed and stripped back to basics. Za:Za's comfort is created by completely replacing the typical structure of a sofa with a system of suspension straps, in the same concept as used for a hammock. This structure on ergonomic straps suspends the padded elements, assuming a natural curve and adapted perfectly to the user. The padded elements are thick, generous and cosy. The armrests, backrest and seat are pulled up like a bespoke costume so that they almost entirely cover the frame and the straps to which they're attached via a series of press-studs. The padding is composed of a non-removable interior lining made with recycled and recyclable polyester featuring two layers: polyurethane, positioned in the lower or rear section of the cushion, and micro-beads of recycled and recyclable polyester in the upper or front section. The different components of the padding are added into individual cushions, inside different pockets. The combination of these materials guarantees cosy comfort. The exterior cover can be removed. No glue is used to assemble the various parts of the sofa. The materials are easy to dismantle and can be separated, replaced and recycled separately. Studio Zaven: "We've explored a formal and technical language that takes not only aesthetic and comfort into consideration, but also the rationalisation of the production and recycling cycles, creating a comfortable and eco-sustainable product."
