Description

A modern, minimalist look defines the Wykeham dining table, with clean lines and rectangular legs providing sleek sophistication. A beautiful solid oak top gives it an earthy, raw edge, whilst the dark finish of the base brings out rich, natural tones in the wood. Working well with industrial interiors, the table’s relaxed feel can be styled up or down to suit your taste. The perfect place to spend quality time with family and friends, the Wykeham

Our Stylist Says

I really like this table because of its clean, contemporary design that balances rustic warmth with urban sleekness. It works particularly well in modern or minimalist interiors but can also add a touch of understated elegance to more traditional spaces. The mix of a sturdy wooden top with darker, block-style legs gives it versatility-it looks great styled with a mix of contemporary chairs or even vintage finds. For practical tips, try pairing it with neutral textiles and minimal tableware to highlight its natural beauty, and consider adding a statement light fixture above to anchor the space. It’s a versatile piece that can be dressed up or down depending on your décor, making it a reliable choice for a functional yet stylish dining area.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
