Description

Made in the UK Made in the UK from solid wrought iron, the Sophie bed frame brings a more modern feel to a traditionally Victorian design. Ideal for smaller bedrooms, its sleek frame incorporates a slatted headboard and a coordinating lower tailboard, both finished with cast iron feet and colour-coordinating finials. Solid slats made from Scandinavian pine wood provide a firmer base for your mattress, and the powder-coated finish acts as protective, high-quality layer. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Sophie iron bed for its clean lines and subtle brass detailing, which bring a touch of character without overpowering the room. Its neutral finish makes it a versatile base for Scandi-inspired schemes, light cottage looks or even pared-back, modern spaces that need a hint of texture. For styling, anchor the bed with a chunky wool rug and pair crisp white linen with one or two accent cushions in muted tones. Keep bedside tables simple - think pale wood or black metal - and add a slim table lamp to mirror the frame’s slim profile. A single framed print or wall shelf above the headboard will complete the look without clutter.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
