Description

Inspired by the grandeur of Wrest Park, this elegant 5-light pendant combines classic design with a refined, modern twist. Created in collaboration with English Heritage, it captures the stately feel of the park's iconic chandeliers in a more compact, versatile form. Its timeless silhouette and intricately ribbed glass bring a touch of sophistication and warmth, making it a perfect fit for both contemporary and traditional interiors. Pair it with other pieces from the English Heritage collection for a cohesive, elevated lighting scheme that pays homage to historic elegance.

Our Stylist Says

I love this five-light pendant for its elegant yet versatile design, making it a great addition to a range of interiors. It works particularly well in traditional or transitional spaces where a touch of classic charm is desired, but it can also be styled in modern settings that embrace a mix of vintage and contemporary elements. Practical styling tips include hanging it in dining areas or over a large kitchen island to create a focal point; ensure height adjustments are made to suit the space - it should sit comfortably without obstructing views or movement. Pair it with warm metallic finishes or even matte black accents for a more eclectic look. Overall, it's a stylish staple that offers both function and form in any ceiling lighting scheme.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
