Description

Design. A luxurious thick top of white marblesupported on a sturdy wooden pedestal base, the Woolton round dining table is ready to impress. An earl greypine finishworks wonders in accentuating the wood's charming natural grain for a truly homely feel. The Woolton is an attractive choice for delivering big style to smaller spaces – providing space for up to 4 to dine comfortably. A classic design in its smooth, natural top and turned wood base, match with suede or velvet dining chairs for a stylish modern touch.

Our Stylist Says

This round dining table is a versatile piece that combines classic elegance with a contemporary edge. I love how the white marble top brings a sense of sophistication and lightness, making it ideal for both modern and traditional interiors. The wooden base adds warmth and texture, allowing it to work well in country cottages, coastal schemes, or eclectic urban settings. Practical styling tips include pairing it with upholstered chairs in neutral tones for a refined look, or mixing in colourful or patterned seating for a more relaxed, eclectic vibe. Because of its neutral palette and timeless silhouette, it’s easy to layer with accessories like statement centrepieces, candles, or a runner to personalise the space without overwhelming it.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
