Description

Design. Echoing classical architectural design, the Woolton round dining table is an elegant piece that will never fail to impress. Its beautifully carved base is crafted from Finland Pine, featuring a light Earl Grey finish that accentuates the natural grains of the wood. In cool contrast, its smooth stone top has a grey blue hue that looks fabulous in any colour scheme. Built to last, this round dining table will provide a sociable spot for the whole family year after year.

Our Stylist Says

I love this round dining table for its versatile design and sophisticated colour palette. The combination of blue stone and Earl Grey makes it an elegant focal point that works well in both contemporary and classic interiors. Its neutral tones make it easy to style with a variety of chair choices, from upholstered to wooden options. For practical styling, I recommend pairing it with layered textiles and statement tableware to create a welcoming dining space, and adding a mix of colours and textures around the room to soften the look. The pedestal base adds stability while maintaining a balanced, uncluttered aesthetic; it’s ideal for smaller dining areas where space might be limited but you still want a striking piece.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
