Price History

Description

The Woodrow Sideboard features a beautiful structure that not only catches the eye but features a design which takes inspiration from the seventies. Featuring space-saving solid slatted doors which slide to the sides allowing you to access the cupboard space with ease. A fantastic storage solution for a living or dining room which when the doors are closed provides a stunning attractive piece to complement your room decor.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Woodrow sideboard for its clean, curved form and subtle fluted doors - it brings texture without shouting for attention. Its neutral oak finish makes it a natural fit in Scandi-inspired spaces, modern coastal schemes or even an understated mid-century setting, pairing easily with soft greys, deep blues or muted greens. For styling, keep the top uncluttered: a round mirror or a simple piece of abstract art centred above, flanked by a statement plant and a small stack of ceramics. Inside, use woven baskets or matching boxes to keep clutter out of sight. If you need extra storage, leave the lower shelf clear for a couple of slim wicker baskets.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
