Description

Featuring beautiful, raw markings and a weathered finish, the Wolvesey dining table introduces natural charm to any dining area. Built from rustic oak, its frame is simple yet solid, with chunky legs and clean lines all around. Incredibly versatile, it can be styled to suit contemporary, traditional or industrial interiors. Bringing with it a wealth of character and warmth, the table invites family meals, dinner parties and everyday activities to its spacious surface. Whether paired with leather dining chairs, a wooden bench, velvet textures or metal accents, you’ll soon discover just how adaptable Wolvesey is.

Our Stylist Says

The Wolvesey dining table is a versatile choice with its simple, solid oak construction-perfect for creating a warm, welcoming dining area. It works particularly well in rustic, Scandinavian, or contemporary interiors where natural materials are key. For styling, I recommend pairing it with a mix of modern and vintage chairs to add visual interest, or keep it streamlined with sleek, upholstered seating. To maintain its look, avoid overcrowding the table with accessories; instead, opt for a minimal centrepiece, like a simple vase or a stack of dinnerware, which complements its sturdy, understated aesthetic. This table is ideal for both everyday dining and more informal gatherings, making it a practical yet stylish addition to most homes.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
