This light is designed by Aldo Rossi (1931-1997), considered by many to be the greatest Italian architect of the second half of the 20th century. During his lifetime, Aldo Rossi created some of the most intensely poetic works of architecture and design, employing a strict design language that relied on primary shapes. The table lamp created by Rossi in 1991 is a miniature version of the street light designed to illuminate Via Croce Rossa in Milan and features a post-modern design that incorporates classical elements. It is made from painted aluminium with a satin opal glass sphere. This object demonstrates Aldo Rossi's extraordinary and personal ability to translate the language of architecture into the world of design. So here you have an example of a light that has been transformed into a miniature work of architecture for an everyday, domestic setting. Today, this iconic object, which is much sought-after by collectors, has been reintroduced to the Alessi catalogue and is reissued in an updated version. Design and architect enthusiasts will enjoy rediscovering or discovering it for the first time. This wireless, rechargeable version features a base with a USB-C port, an on/off button and a touch dimmer. You can adjust the intensity of the light source by pressing the power switch (luminous flux 500 lm, colour temperature 2 700 K). The battery can last between 3 and 10 hours, depending on the intensity chosen. At medium intensity, it lasts for 4-6 hours.
