Originally designed by Verner Panton in 1972, the white Wire Table Lamp is still crafted by his design house, Verpan, today. Cleverly designed with a cylindrical wire framework crafted from chrome-plated steel, the statement table lamp is finished with a white plastic shade that diffuses light evenly throughout any space. Gifted with a unique sense of colour, shape and light, Verner Panton is renowned across the globe as one of Denmark's most influential designers. Boldly creating furniture and lighting that was completely unlike the work of his contemporaries, Panton's designs are housed in collections at New York's MoMA, Copenhagen's Danish Museum of Art and Design and the Design Museum in London. Requires: 1 x Max 60W E27 bulb (not included).
I love this lamp for its clean, modern aesthetic and versatile design. Its minimalist white shade combined with the striking metal grid base makes it a perfect statement piece that adds a contemporary touch without overwhelming a space. It works really well in both eclectic and pared-back interiors, particularly in lounge areas, bedrooms, or even home offices where a functional yet stylish light is needed. For styling tips, try pairing it with sleek, neutral-toned furnishings or layering with other textures to highlight its sculptural form. A handy tip is to position it near cosy reading corners or side tables for both practicality and visual impact.
