Price History

Description

This unique wire cage pendant is an unusual piece that’s sure to be a fantastic fit for your contemporary decors. The bulb sits within the shade and shines out through the gaps in the cage for a bright, practical spread of light across the room. A black finish giving a sleek urban image to the fitting, which has a very simplistic design and would be a brilliant addition to a minimalist décor.

Our Stylist Says

I love the industrial edge of this wire cage pendant; its simple black finish makes it incredibly versatile. It works particularly well in modern, minimalist, or scandi-inspired interiors, adding a touch of utilitarian charm without overwhelming the space. The open wire design allows the bulb to be a feature in its own right, so pairing it with vintage filament bulbs or minimal LED options can really enhance its aesthetic. Practical styling tips include hanging it at varying heights over a kitchen island or dining table for an informal, layered look, or using a pair of these pendants in a hallway or living space to create a cohesive and stylish lighting scheme. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for anyone looking to add visual interest with a contemporary or industrial vibe.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
