Description
Not only is this bureau extremely handsome it is also madly useful as a place for storage. The exaggerated cornice and the beautifully rubbed back white exterior help frame the pretty blue interior with its balustrade and its little drawers.

I’m a fan of this Balnwick bureau in washed acacia for its versatile, lived-in look and solid storage capacity. The pale, weathered finish works especially well in coastal, Scandinavian or modern country schemes, bringing warmth without feeling heavy.
To style it, try a low-profile lamp on one side of the top surface, a small stack of leather-bound books on the other, and a simple botanical print hung centrally above. Inside the drop-front desk area, organise stationery in woven baskets and leave enough clear space for a laptop. In a dining room it doubles as a smart drinks station - just add a slim tray for glasses and a few favourite bottles.
