It is crafted from North American pine solids and veneers where practical, with the clever use of a mill saw giving characteristic features of cross sawn timber to create a tactile, dramatic finish. I’m a fan of this William sideboard for its clean-lined marble top and turned-leg base - it brings a refined yet relaxed feel to both dining areas and hallways. The neutral timber finish works equally well in contemporary country schemes, Scandi-inspired rooms or more traditional settings, and the open planked shelf is ideal for displaying ceramics or woven baskets. To style it, anchor a round mirror above and layer a mix of textured vases and glassware on the surface, leaving enough space around each item for an uncluttered look. Use the lower shelf for neatly stacked plates or low baskets, and introduce a single sculptural plant or lamp to give the composition height without overwhelming the simplicity of the piece.
