The original pattern took several days to print using hand-carved woodblocks to build up the different colours, and ‘Strawberry Thief’ was consequently one of Morris’s firm’s most expensive cottons. Designed in 1883, Strawberry Thief remains one of William Morris’s most popular and iconic designs. The Strawberry Thief Chenille Garnet Made to Measure curtains are luxuriously soft with a velvet like appearance, perfect for creating a sophisticated look. The fabric showcases the intricate Strawberry Thief design of birds, berries, and foliage on a garnet base. The pattern is slightly raised giving the fabric subtle texture. Whether styled in a traditional sitting room or as a standout piece in a modern interior, bring heritage charm and colour into your space with these stunning curtains. Crafted from a blend of recycled polyester and polyester, this premium chenille fabric is thick and highly durable making it great for retaining its colour and shape over time. The chenille also holds heat well keeping your room warm and cosy. Exclusive to Dunelm, the garnet colourway allows you to embrace a bespoke aesthetic that’s both timeless and distinctly your own.**Our Made to Measure Service.**Choose from a selection of lining and header types to customise these curtains to your needs. Complete the look and pair these curtains with coordinating tiebacks, and cushions. If your measured width is over 124cm your curtains will come with a fabric join to provide the full width required.
Our Stylist Says
I love this William Morris-inspired curtain for its rich, traditional pattern and vibrant colour palette, making it a real statement piece. It's ideal for addingCharacter and warmth to classic or vintage-inspired interiors, but could also bring a touch of eclectic charm to more modern spaces when paired with contemporary furniture. Practical styling tips include opting for neutral walls to let the pattern shine, and pairing with simple accessories to avoid overwhelming the room. These made-to-measure curtains are perfect for creating a tailored look, and their heavy chenille fabric offers good insulation and light control, making them both stylish and practical.
