I’m a fan of the William bench for its sturdy turned legs and gently weathered finish, which give it enough character to sit comfortably in both traditional country kitchens and more pared-back contemporary dining rooms. To style it, layer on a couple of neutral-toned seat pads or a woven throw for extra comfort, then keep the tabletop simple with glassware and a low vase so you don’t obscure sightlines across the table.
