The vase is fashioned from earthenware by local talent in Portugal, then reactively glazed resulting in a unique finish in every piece. Earthenware is a porous type of pottery dating back thousands of years. Most of ancient, medieval, Middle Eastern, and European painted ceramics are earthenware.
