A refreshing sunshine yellow, Weld Yellow is an uplifting hue with an abundant sense of joy. Weld is a dye substance derived from the weld plant, producing a vibrant yellow for which Morris, the expert colourist, had a natural affinity. Highly opaque and low sheen, the eggshell paint finish offers a fresh, enduring quality. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material including dirt and grease. Prime base surfaces with an appropriate primer. Rub down previously glossed painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead. Prime base surfaces with an appropriate primer. Stir well before use and apply by brush or roller. Apply 2 coats, recoatable after 2-4 hours. Additional coa
The water-based acrylic eggshell paint in Weld Yellow works beautifully in lively, welcoming interiors, especially spaces that benefit from a touch of warmth and brightness. I love this shade for creating feature walls or adding a cheerful accent in living rooms or kitchens. It pairs well with neutral tones and natural textiles, allowing practicality and style to go hand in hand. For styling with rugs, I suggest focusing on textures and patterns that complement the sunny hue-think muted greys, soft whites, or even darker hues to ground the space. Practical tips include ensuring good lighting to prevent the yellow from feeling overwhelming, and opting for rugs with subtle patterns to add visual interest without competing with the vibrant wall colour. Overall, this paint and colour combo offer a fresh, upbeat vibe suitable for relaxed or inviting interiors.
