Recalling the thorned roses which populate the 1864 Morris & Co. design, Trellis, Thorned Rose is a strikingly atmospheric colour. Highly opaque and low sheen, the eggshell paint finish offers a fresh, enduring quality. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material including dirt and grease. Prime base surfaces with an appropriate primer. Rub down previously glossed painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead. Prime base surfaces with an appropriate primer. Stir well before use and apply by brush or roller. Apply 2 coats, recoatable after 2-4 hours. Additional coats may be required on new plaster or where a larger colour change is desired. Do not apply in temperatures
I love the Water Based Acrylic Eggshell Paint in Thorned Rose for its versatile and subtle colour. It works particularly well in contemporary or classic interiors where a touch of colour can enliven a space without overwhelming it. When styling with this shade, consider pairing it with natural textures like wooden furniture or woven textiles to create a balanced look. It’s also a practical choice for rooms with high traffic or surfaces that need easy cleaning, thanks to its durable eggshell finish. To make the most of the colour, keep accessories and soft furnishings in complementary shades such as muted pinks, greys, or creams for a cohesive, crafted feel.
