Sampled from the Chrysanthemum design of 1877, Mumington’s Stem is a traditional green with hints of blue, perfect for adding a calming touch to any space. Highly opaque and low sheen, the eggshell paint finish offers a fresh, enduring quality. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material including dirt and grease. Prime base surfaces with an appropriate primer. Rub down previously glossed painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead. Prime base surfaces with an appropriate primer. Stir well before use and apply by brush or roller. Apply 2 coats, recoatable after 2-4 hours. Additional coats may be required on new plaster or where a larger colour change is desired. Do
The Water Based Acrylic Eggshell Paint in Mumingtons Stem is a versatile choice that pairs well with both contemporary and traditional interiors. I love it for its soft, muted tone that adds a calming backdrop without overpowering a space. It’s particularly effective in living rooms, bedrooms, or even home offices where a subtle colour can promote relaxation. When styling, consider pairing it with natural textures like woven throws or wooden furniture for warmth. Practical tips include using it on walls that benefit from a softer hue, and layering with rugs, cushions, or artwork to create visual interest. Its eggshell finish also provides some durability and easy maintenance, making it a sensible option for busier areas.
