Description

This dark green fabric armchair is a perfect blend of comfort and style. The beechwood frame offers exceptional durability, ensuring long-lasting support. Covered in 100% polyester fabric, it is both easy to maintain and resilient. The cushions are filled with a premium mix of foam and fibre, providing a soft yet supportive firmness for ultimate comfort. Ideal for any living space, this chair offers a contemporary design with a luxurious feel. Whether for relaxation or accenting your home decor, this armchair is a sophisticated choice that combines both function and elegance.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of the Walvis armchair in dark green fabric because its clean lines and low, welcoming seat strike a smart balance between comfort and style. The rich, mossy tone works especially well in schemes that pair warm woods and brass accents - think a mid-century living room, a moody reading nook or even as a standout piece in a neutral hallway. For easy styling, position it beside a slim metal or walnut side table and add a textured cushion in ochre or deep navy to lift the green. A slim floor lamp with a soft-glow shade will highlight the chair’s wooden arms, and a cosy throw in a contrasting weave can tie the look together while keeping the seat inviting.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
