As seen at our original rural retreat, Babington House,traditional woven rugs are an essential part of the country-houselook. The Walter is hand-knotted in India by artisans who use aspecial technique called gabbeh, where the yarns are dyed in such away that the colour penetration is deliberately uneven, resultingin a unique movement of colours. A blend of wool and silk gives asofter hand feel, and because every rug is painstakingly knotted byhand, each is a true one off. Hand-knotted rug with 63 knots per square inch. Traditional paisley design in tones of rust, cream, andblue. Wool- and silk-blended pile. Made in India by skilled artisans. Gabbeh dying technique makes each rug unique. Inspired by Babington House.
