As seen at our original rural retreat, Babington House, traditional woven rugs are an essential part of the country-house look. The Walter is hand-knotted in India by artisans who use a special technique called gabbeh, where the yarns are dyed in such a way that the colour penetration is deliberately uneven, resulting in a unique movement of colours. A blend of wool and silk gives a softer hand feel, and because every rug is painstakingly knotted by hand, each is a true one off. Hand-knotted rug with 63 knots per square inch Traditional paisley design in tones of rust, cream, and blue Wool- and silk-blended pile Made in India by skilled artisans Gabbeh dying technique makes each rug unique Inspired by Babington House
