The Walker range of dining and living room furniture is all about the wood. Crafted from European oak and with rustic oak veneers, Walker celebrates the beauty of real wood, highlighting its natural texture, knots and grain with a variety of specialist techniques. Pieces feature a brushed out grain, where the softer wood grain is brushed away leaving harder wood grain more prominent for a lovely textured appearance. Table tops and cupboard doors showcase the range’s signature inlaid wood grain chevron patterning. And all pieces are finished with a natural-looking matte lacquer. Inspired by mid-century style with clean lines, simple forms and rounded splayed legs, Walker’s dining tables, storage pieces and occasional tables are sure to find a place in any stylish contemporary home. Large and square, the Walker coffee table is distinctively proportioned and beautifully finished. Clearly inspired by a mid-century modern design aesthetic, this contemporary piece features a beautifully smooth wood finish and rounded splayed legs. Made of European oak and rustic oak veneers, the finish is smooth and pale with a fabulous texture that’s derived from brushing out the grain – a specialist technique which leaves the harder wood grain more prominent. The front features a stunning inlaid chevron-patterned wood grain and the whole piece is finished with a specialist matte lacquer for a natural-looking surface. The Walker coffee table is part of the Walker range of living room and dining room furniture which includes a wide range of storage pieces and occasional tables. Equally distinctive is the Walker cocktail cabinet and the Walker console table. The same beautiful oak grain finish is also available in two styles of dining table.
I’m a fan of the Walker coffee table for its simple, mid-century inspired lines and warm oak finish - it slips easily into Scandi, minimalist or contemporary living rooms. Its square shape makes it ideal for zoning larger spaces or pairing two together in front of a sofa, and the slender, tapered legs give the impression of lightness without compromising on surface area. For styling, try anchoring it with a low, woven tray to corral remotes and a candle, stack a couple of design coffee-table books in one corner and introduce a small, sculptural plant pot to balance textures and keep things practical.
