Upholstered in rich velvet, it rests on oversized solid oak bun feet and is designed to be the focal point of your bedroom to build around with other prints and fabrics. I’m a fan of the Vivienne bed for its softly curved silhouette and rich antique-rose velvet - it immediately warms a room without feeling overly fussy. The low profile and vertical channel stitching give it a contemporary edge, so it works as well in a Scandi-inspired scheme as it does in an eclectic or modern-maximalist space. To style, layer in neutral linens - think crisp white sheets with a slubby linen throw - and add a couple of velvet or textured cushions in complementary tones (deep terracotta, ochre or soft grey). Place on a natural-fibre rug to ground the look, and balance the colour with light timber or brass-finish bedside tables and simple glass lamps. A trailing plant or two will bring in some freshness without distracting from the bed’s sculptural quality.
