I often reach for the green Eames DAX armchair when I need a statement piece that still feels versatile. Its deep emerald shell and dark metal legs work equally well in a pared-back Scandi dining area or an eclectic home office, and the powder-coated base plus protective glides make it hard-wearing on both carpet and wood floors.
Styling tip: balance the bold hue with a soft neutral rug or oak table, then layer in cushions or a wool throw in muted tones (think dove-grey or soft mustard) to soften the shell’s sleek curves. It also plays nicely against brass or stone accents, so don’t be afraid to team it with a side table in a contrasting material for a more dynamic look.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
