"Created by Finnish designer Mika Tolvanen, the Visu chair is a modern take on the famous bent plywood chair, a great classic of contemporary design. It took no less than two years of work to achieve the fluid form and user-friendly design, during which its designer and manufacturer continuously reworked its edges and curves: “Visu” is Finnish for “precision”! Functional and ergonomic, it is perfect both around a dining table and in front of a desk. Discreet and timeless without being boring, it will fit in perfectly in all environments, both private and public. Designer Mika Tolvanen: "The idea behind the Visu chair was to create an elegant, simple interpretation of the archetypal plywood chair. I wanted the design to have a sober, timeless character, capable of bringing a feeling of modern familiarity to any room, combined with a comfortable seat in moulded plywood. Designing the chair as a family of seats all linked aesthetically but which can be used for different functions was a study on the adaptation of a design to its environment and a process which lasted almost two years.
