Within the mattress, two layers of Vispring’s famous 6 turn vanadium steel springs offer responsive support. The mattress rests on a solid timber sprung base in your choice of fine upholstery. This traditional-feel 23 cm deep mattress combines an exceptionally high spring count with superbly soft fillings for a very responsive feel. With a double layer of 2242 super-strong vanadium steel springs in king size, this handcrafted mattress conforms precisely to your body for customised comfort. Springs have six coils and are hand-nested in calico pockets. This mattress is filled with blended real Shetland wool and cotton, and hand-teased horsetail blended with real Shetland wool, a wonderful combination that provides a perfect balance of softness and support. This mattress has hand-tied woollen tufts, is covered in fine-quality ticking and has three rows of hand side stitching. The wool and coir-upholstered borders have air vents and horizontal handles. The mattress should be aired for four hours after delivery to freshen and remove any aroma from storage. It may take time for your mattress to attain its full size once the springs have settled to the correct position. This is due to the mattress being upright during transit. Settlement of fillings and indentations caused by body weight compressing the fillings are natural and not considered defects. This can be minimised by regular rotating (unless yours is a dual tension mattress).
