A sprung, supportive and durable foundation for your mattress, the Premier divan base from Vispring is made from high-quality FSC-certified materials. Handmade in the UK and traditionally glued and screwed, the upholstered base features a hand-nested pocket spring system that’s encased with temperature-regulating, natural fillings. Pocket springs and natural fillings Insulating wool and breathable cotton ensure good ventilation, while the pocket springs are produced in an edge-to-edge format that maintains the structure of the base and helps to keep your body weight evenly distributed. FSC-Certified Made from slow-grown Scandinavian softwood and hardwood, all timber used in this base has accreditation from the Forest Stewardship Council. The production process is monitored and all materials used can be traced to ensure responsible manufacturing. Our Stylist Says

I love this divan base for its clean lines and practical design, making it a versatile piece in many interiors. Its extra-long single size is perfect for smaller spaces or guest rooms where space efficiency is key. The FSC-certified spruce frame adds a touch of eco-conscious appeal, aligning well with contemporary interiors that favour sustainable materials. Styling tip: pair it with a simple, neutral bed linen and layered textiles to create a modern, cosy look, or dress it up with patterned fabrics and statement cushions for a more eclectic vibe. It works particularly well in minimalist, Scandinavian, or even industrial schemes, providing a sturdy, understated foundation that keeps the room looking sleek and uncluttered.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
