Description

Design. If you’re looking to add eye-catching, fine dining vibes to your dining space, look no further than the Versilia Extending Dining Table. A sleek linear design that has a luxurious high gloss finish that looks fantastic with its metal feet, the Versilia is ideal for large families and those who love to host. Making every meal time an experience, the Versilia includes a practical extending feature, so you don’t have to sacrifice all of your dining space, but have the means to provide plenty of surface space for up to 10 diners when necessary.

Our Stylist Says

I love this one for its sleek, contemporary appeal - the grey high gloss finish gives it a sophisticated look that fits well in modern, minimalist spaces. It’s versatile enough to work in both open-plan dining areas and more compact apartments, especially because of its extending feature, which adds functionality without sacrificing style. For styling tips, I recommend pairing it with chairs in either contrasting colours, like soft neutrals or bold shades, to create visual interest. A simple, understated centrepiece or a runner can add a touch of personality without overwhelming its clean aesthetic. It’s ideal for those wanting a statement piece that’s practical, durable, and effortlessly stylish.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
