Description

Our Velvet Table Lamp is the perfect addition to your home’s interior lighting arrangements. Finished in Brass, the slim, minimal base has a beautiful, warm appearance, and is topped with a deep Navy velvet shade, giving the modern piece a mid-century twist. The contrasting tones work beautifully together, diffusing the light into a warm glow that illuminates the surrounding area with a soothing, relaxed feeling.

Our Stylist Says

I love this navy and brass lamp for its sophisticated yet versatile look, making it an excellent addition to both contemporary and classic interiors. The velvet shade adds a tactile richness that works beautifully in cosy living rooms or bedrooms, while the brass base introduces a touch of luxe without feeling too opulent. It pairs well with neutral palettes for a striking contrast or coordinated with other navy accents for a cohesive scheme. For styling tips, place it on a side table or desk to create a layered lighting effect, and consider pairing it with textured cushions or throws to enhance its tactile appeal. Its understated elegance makes it a practical yet stylish choice for elevating everyday spaces.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
