I’m a fan of the grey velvet bench for its blend of soft upholstery and neat button detailing - the low armrests give it a refined silhouette without taking up too much visual space. It sits equally well at the end of a bed, in an entrance hall beneath a slim console table and mirror, or beside a window as a reading nook.
To style it, drape a textured throw over one side and add a small lumbar cushion for contrast. Position it on a natural-fibre rug to ground the look and introduce a pair of sleek brass or black metal lanterns alongside for extra warmth. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores".
